The Process of Renting a Sailboat, Yacht, or Catamaran

There are at least as many models of sailboats, yachts, and catamarans as cars. At first, you will try in vain to differentiate them by brand and model. In charter, there is a basic division between cabins and berths. In the Adriatic, sailboats start with 2 cabins and end with 5 cabins. There is a difference of about 5 meters in length between the first and the last. The length is measured in feet.

Double cabins are about 10 meters long, while five cabins are 15 meters long. In between are 3 and 4 cabins. One cabin usually also means two berths. Two crew members can usually also sleep in the saloon, the central area on the yacht next to the kitchen.

It is different with catamarans, where the smallest ones are around 38 feet and the largest are 46 feet and more. Catamarans, even the smaller ones, have a minimum of 4 cabins. With yachts, where more luxury is expected, there are fewer cabins for the same size.
