The rental price of a sailboat, yacht, or catamaran depends above all on the time of year you want to charter it. The charter season starts around April and ends in November. Everything depends on the weather. The warmer it is, the more the sea beckons us, and vice versa with cold weather.

As for prices, it goes something like this. The lowest prices are in April and October, or November. The season starts for Easter and May Day holidays, but it is still low season then. The high season with specific prices begins around mid-June and peaks in the first half of August. Prices start to fall after September. At the peak of the season, the rental prices of a sailboat, catamaran, or yacht can reach up to three times the price of the pre-season.

Early – First Minute and Last Minute Booking Discounts!

Agencies offer special discounts of up to 20% if you book the boat by the end of February. This will ensure that you can rent a yacht on your desired date. Some people wait for a last-minute offer until a day or two before the rental itself. This requires a little luck and an adventurous spirit. However, indeed, the rental price of a sailboat, catamaran, or yacht at the last minute can sometimes reach up to 50% of the price on the actual date.

Other Costs!

The rental fee includes the rental of the boat and its equipment, its normal wear and tear, third-party insurance, and full hull insurance with a deductible (deposit), usually also mooring in the marina's permanent berth. The rental fee does not include fuel, berths, taxes in other marinas, ports, and anchorages, car parking, or tourist tax.

The following must also be taken into account: the obligatory cost of transit log with cleaning and navigation documents (from € 150 onwards) and tourist tax (approx. € 1.5/day per person).

You can also choose between renting an outboard engine (€ 80-120), a safety net (€ 100), or a spinnaker (€ 100-200), there is also an extra charge for a pet (€ 50-100) and sometimes even for towels.

For a carefree vacation and beginners, we arrange deposit insurance (approx. 10-20% of the deposit amount) and the possibility of hiring a skipper (€ 150-250/day) or crew. Some have all these costs included in the rental of a sailboat, yacht, or catamaran - the so-called all-inclusive.

Usually, the reservation for renting a yacht, sailboat, or catamaran is confirmed with a payment of 50% of the amount, the remaining 50% is paid 35 days before renting the yacht. As a rule, takeovers are on Saturdays until 5:00 PM and return on Saturdays until 9:00 AM. Recently, however, more and more charterers require that the boats be in the home marina by Friday afternoon.
